mad at the awesomely amazing libba bray
i am extremely mad at Libba Bray. Last week i had exams. A few days before last week i bought Libba Bray's third book in her Gemma Doyal series. Now, i love her books. LoveThemLoveThemLoveThem. But that was the problem. I couldn't put it down. Both of the nights before my exams i had stayed up reading until 3 in the morning. and on top of that i have insomnia. and i'm the kind of person that leaves studying till the last minute (i know shame on me) but because i couldn't put this book down, guess what i was doing instead of studying?!? ya. man it is gonna be so much fun to see the shade of purple my dad turns when report cards come home *cringe*. so darn you Libba Bray for being such a good writer!!! o wait, i almost forgot the last reason i was mad...SHE KILLED OFF MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!!! and then i cried. a lot. but i mean...KARTIK!...i would rather Gemma have died. i really would. in some books i think it really works to have this kind of thing happen. but not so much with The Sweet Far Thing. it didn't help the story plot or anything. and we didn't require another reason to feel bad for Gemma. so...i don't get it. why couldn't he have lived! happily ever after?!?!?!?! there is no justice in this world. but besides the ending? AWESOMELY AMAZING BOOK! thank you libba bray for writing so well! but i'm still mad at you for writing so well. but anyhoo--read it. love it. dream about kartik.

Hallmark Day
*sigh* Valentines day UHG! It's creeping up on us freakishly fast, looming over us like an evil shadow. I mean, the stupid holiday is an invention to promote hallmark cards. If your in love with someone, a singing heart card is not going to change anything. Have you ever read a book where destiny brings two characters together on Valentines Day?!?It is a chance for the INDUSTRY LEADERS OF AMERICA to act all high and mighty and say, "look and this [next company over] we sold 400 more boxes of chocolates than you! Ha! You suck!" Then they go public and announce how happy they are that America is such a loving country. Which isn't true. I love the US and all, but we're totally the bullies on the block.
Sorry for the rant...I don't mean to sound anti-happiness or anything, cuz that's not it at all. I just think that it's a sucky holiday that's all about making money.
Wow, all this negative energy has worn me out.
